Skill Development Training Centres (Sky DEEP)
Across the Bapatla Parliamentary Constituency, youth unemployment has been a growing concern, amplified by the mismatch between available skills and industry requirements. Many young people complete basic schooling but find themselves unable to secure stable jobs due to a lack of technical know-how, vocational training, and exposure to modern work practices. This situation not only affects individual livelihoods but also limits the region’s overall economic productivity. Without skill-building facilities nearby, students were forced to migrate or drop out of potential careers altogether.
To address this persistent problem, MP Tenneti Krishna Prasad proposed the establishment of dedicated Skill Development Training Centres under the Sky DEEP initiative. Utilising funds from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), ₹60 lakh was sanctioned to set up one district-level and four municipality-level centres in strategically chosen locations. These centres will offer courses in trades and skills directly aligned with market demands — such as tailoring, electrical work, computer training, hospitality, and small business entrepreneurship. The proposal received full administrative approval, and implementation is in progress, with training modules being developed in collaboration with state skill development authorities.
