Four-Lane Upgrade of Guntur–Bapatla–Chirala State Road
The G.B.C. State Road is a crucial economic connector carrying agricultural produce from Guntur’s farming heartland to Bapatla’s coastal trading hubs and Chirala’s textile and weaving centres. Its two-lane configuration meant congestion was routine, especially during peak agricultural seasons, impacting quality and delivery schedules.
With proactive engagement between MP Tenneti Krishna Prasad, the Andhra Pradesh Roads & Buildings Department, and CM Chandrababu Naidu, the state government approved the proposal in principle to expand the G.B.C. road into a four-lane high-capacity highway.
