T. Krishna Prasad (born March 2, 1960) is a celebrated Indian Police Service (IPS) officer turned politician, currently serving as the Member of Parliament from Bapatla (SC), Andhra Pradesh.
Known for his visionary leadership, social commitment, and infrastructure reforms, he has worked across law enforcement, public policy, and development for over 34 years.
Early Life & Family
Krishna Prasad was born in Hyderabad, and his parents are from East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh to a family of educators. The values of discipline and community service were instilled in him from an early age.

In 1986, Krishna Prasad cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his first attempt and joined the Indian Police Service (IPS). Over the next three decades, he held key positions across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, displaying immense courage, innovation, and compassion in every assignment.

Through the Three Tent Program in Vizag and the Sanjeevani Program across four North Telangana districts, T. Krishna Prasad pioneered a humane approach to counter-insurgency, combining medical outreach, rehabilitation, and livelihood opportunities to encourage militant surrenders. His efforts led to the surrender of nearly 400 militants in Vizag and 300 in Telangana, driving Naxalites out of the region by 2004.

Transition to Politics
In 2024, driven by a deeper commitment to serve the nation, T. Krishna Prasad entered public life. He was elected as Member of Parliament from Bapatla (SC) constituency, bringing his values of integrity, inclusion, and innovation to national policymaking.
